Middie Way Baseball and Softball

Frequent Questions

  • Q: Does it really matter when I register?

    • A: Yes. If you wait to register you risk a division becoming full. Once a division is full, your child will be added to a waitlist until a spot opens up, or more teams and coaches are added to a division.

  • Q: If I register my child and they decide later not to play can I get a refund?

    • A: Yes, registrations are refundable up until registration closes, Middie Way Board must be notified of the withdrawal via email or phone call.

  • Q: What do I do if I cannot afford the registration costs for my child?

    • A: Thanks to the amazing support Middie Way has received from our sponsors, we want to make sure that every kid who wants to play baseball is able to play baseball and is not hindered by cost. Please contact Middie Way by Email or Phone for assistance.

  • Q: Can I request that my son/daughter be on the same team as a friend?

    • A: We try to honor ALL requests for the Mini Tee and Tee ball divisions, regardless of reason, whenever possible. All other divisions are formed with a draft and player requests will not be considered. The only way to guarantee a spot on a specific team is if you are the Head Coach, Assistant Coach (there is only one official assistant coach position for draft purposes) or to sponsor a team. Sponsorships are on a first pay basis and must be paid prior to draft to ensure protection.

  • Q: What is included in a uniform?

    • A: Middie Way provides a team jersey, hat, belt and socks for each player.

  • Q: What do I need to provide for my player, regarding uniforms?

    • A: White Baseball pants ONLY

  • Q: What do I need to provide for my player to get started?

    • A: Every player needs an appropriate fitting glove. We mention this because just like everything else, they will eventually outgrow the glove they are using. Also, girls who are beginning softball need a softball glove. The webbing should accommodate the larger size balls. Middie Way will provide team helmets, catcher's gear, and bats. However, most prefer to have their own bat. Please see the bat information in the site link, in the bottom right corner.. (12U and Under must be USA 14U may be BBCOR, ABSOLUTELY NO USSSA Baseball Only) / (Softball USSSA allowed)

  • Q: What do I do if I am unable to afford a glove for my child?

    • A: Thanks to Middie Way Sponsors for those in need we are more than willing to offer those who cannot afford equipment, whatever equipment is needed.

  • Q: Does my player need cleats?

    • A: Cleats are not mandatory but encouraged. All cleats must be rubber/molded cleats, ABSOLUTELY NO METAL SPIKES.

  • Q: Can I request which days of the week we play?

    • A: No. With over 500 expected players, it is impossible to honor requests for certain days off. Schedules are made to spread games across the days of the week so that each team plays twice each week. We can try our best to accommodate some Coach’s conflicts but nothing is guaranteed. Coaches will have one scheduled practice time at Goldman, but do not have to use that time, also coaches have the ability to schedule their own practice times at other locations.

  • How will I know when I can schedule around the baseball/softball season?

    • A: The game schedule will be released by April 1st for In-house season

    •  A: Any leagues that require teams to travel will be released as soon as possible after April 1st, as it is more complicated to coordinate.

  • Q: What days are games played?

    • A: For all in-house league games, most game days are expected to be Tuesday, Thursdays, and Saturdays. With some weeks having games days on Monday and Wednesday as well. For those teams whose league requires travel, game days will be sporadic as we have to coordinate with other leagues to schedule.

  • Q: What time are games played?

    • A: Week day games are planned to start at 5:30pm and 7:00pm

    • A: Weekend games are planned to start at 9am, 11am, 1pm

    • A: All days and times are subject to change based on registration numbers and weather.

  • Schedule and Events:
